Only hippies liked st anger. i have listened to all of death magnetic over and over again. it's the best metallica since ...And Justice For All. I'm including their self-titled, which was a highly overrated CD anyway, the so-called Black Album. Death Magnetic is much more than i expected to hear from Metallica ever again. not their greatest, but a resurrection of the old. it's actual thrash instead of whatever the fuck S(hi)t. Anger was.

New Metallica
I heard a few of the new tracks. Sounds to me like they are bringing back their "Classic Sound" or the old Metallica ....this is good. I did not care for St. Anger.
Metallica were on the verge
Metallica were on the verge of breaking up when St. Anger came out. Lots of fighting, James going thru rehab, etc. They're not exactly proud of that album either. James has said that Death Magnetic is, in his opinion, the best one since the black album. I tend to agree.
