The ghost of FUZZ haunts Indestructible
It hit me hard when Fuzz was kicked out...
Got to me when his name was smeared by bullshit rumors...
Still I listened & accepted the new sound for what it was - not exactly the disturbed that rocked my world...
The release of the new Perfect Insanity was a shock to me, however "better" the quality of the recording - I miss the BASS that drove the song.
And now I hear that Divide is a confirmed track too - another song written with Fuzz. I heard the original recording & loved it (youtube.com/originaldisturbedfan). I imagine it will be processed like Perfect Insanity.
On to the point: Why is Disturbed releasing songs written with Fuzz 2 ALBUMS LATER? Will he be CREDITED? (He obviously participated in writing "Guarded" & was NOT credited.) He'll get some royalties for Perfect Insanity. But no royalties for Divide. Yeah, I had the balls to ask him. I'm sure it's LEGAL but to me it's UNETHICAL. Of all bands to do something like this... I expected more, "My brothers, My sisters, My blood."

I think Fuzz should get
I think Fuzz should get royalties too , i mean it's pretty shit if he dose'nt.I think divide is a kick ass song , i heard the original on your myspace page peg and it was really good.Dont hate me for saying this..lol , but i like the newer version more because it's better produced and has more of an edge to it but thats just my opinion.I love disturbed's old style but i also love their new style , i agree that the bass has weakened a bit which sucks because a pounding bass sound brings it all together even more.

Bumping this post.
Bumping this post.
It deserves it.
hadda feelin ya posted this
hadda feelin ya posted this peggy haha. the bass line has indeed gotten weaker, but the drums in divide were plain throughout most of the verses. i hope that they change that, plus obviously they sounded like shit the snare being too abrasive IMO, obviously part of the poor recording. never was a huge fan of perfect insanity, though i don't dislike it, just not my fave. and their style may have changed slightly, but i love it. to each his own.
Fuzz was brilliant, but unfortunately things didn't work out. i hope he is well, and wish he would get something from the songs he helped write. well, that's my 2 cents. peace

Oh my.
I hope this isn't true. As much as I like Disturbed this would really make me question purchasing their latest or any other album future album releases or purchasing any show tickets. I don't care what Fuzz did or what was said. If he contributed then he should get his share of the profits.

how are you so sure that
how are you so sure that Fuzz was part of Guarded?
I remember in an interview for 10,000 fists, Dan said that he wrote all the bass and guitar notes himself after Fuzz left and before John joined the group. I'll try to find that interview and post it.
Indestructible, determination that is incorruptible
Here's how:
The song you hear in the video Kiss_me_raw linked is a song they wrote around 1994 - it's where Guarded came from. Another song on there, "Circles" is where Divide came from. Just listen & you'll see. According to interviews, when Fuzz was with them, songwriting was a collaborative effort.
What's reported in interviews isn't always accurate. For example, here's one talking about Indestructible which is obviously inaccurate because Perfect Insanity & Divide are on the album:

The Gauntlet: When we last spoke, you were working on 10,000 Fists and stated you were writing about 20 songs, 10 for the album, some for soundtracks, B-sides, etc. Where any of the songs carried over?
David: No, this album is all new material. Everything we wrote and recorded for the last record we used for B-sides, foreign release or sound checks. This record is kinda hard to say. It doesn’t have as many tracks written as we did with Fists. I think we have 16 tracks total and will put 11 or 12 on the album.
That video (that Kiss_me_raw
That video (that Kiss_me_raw put a link too) should be proof enough that Dan wasn't the only one involved in the writing.
I remember reading that somewhere too.

Agreed. It's bull that they
Agreed. It's bull that they can't give him credit for guarded or divide. I'm glad to hear that he'll get royalties for Perfect Insanity (and he better).
The original Perfect insanity is by far one of the greatest works by disturbed, even with it's generic structure, because of how well fuzz, dan, and mike worked well together to make such an edgy song.
I stopped listening when fuzz left, after noticing how their writing style kinda changed. They kinda changed the way they played, kinda for the bad, IMO. They seem to be more focused on individuality more than working as a group. The guitar solos by dan and the improved drumming technique of mike show this (to me, anyway). David, being the amazing vocalist he is, can kinda bring it all together, but I still see the difference.
But yeah, back on topic, fuzz deserves the credit.
