Lyrics to Mid Life Crisis

Midlife Crisis

Go on and wring my neck
Like when a rage gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like a lettuce
Go on and dig your tumbs in
I cannot stop giving
I'm thirty-something

Sense of Security
Like pockets jingling
Midlife crisis
Suck ingenuity
Down through the family tree

You're perfect, yes it's true
But without me you're only you (you're only you)
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleedin' enough for two

It's a midlife crisis
It's a midlife crisis...

What an inheritance
The salt and the Kleenex
Morbid self attention
Bending my pinky back
A little discipline
A donor by Habit
A little discipline
Rent an opinion

Sense of security
Holding blunt instrument
I'm a perfectionist
And perfect is a skinned knee

You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

It's a midlife crisis..

You're perfect, yes it's true
But without me you're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two(repeat until fade)

Thanks for the info on the song. There are a few versions of the Disturbed version on You Tube.

Your lyrics had flaws: These are the right ones

Go on and wring my neck
Like when a rag gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like lettuce
Go on, dig your thumbs in
I cannot stop giving
I'm thirty-something

Sense of security
Like pockets jingling
Midlife crisis
Suck ingenuity
Down through the family tree

You're perfect, yes it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

It's a midlife crisis
It's a midlife crisis

What an inheritance
The salt and the Kleenex
Morbid self-attention
Bending my pinkie back
A little discipline
A donor by habit
A little discipline
Rent an opinion

Sense of security
Holding blunt instrument
Midlife Crisis
I'm a perfectionist
And perfect is a skinned knee

You're perfect, yes, it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

It's a midlife crisis
It's a midlife crisis

You're perfect, yes it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

You're perfect, yes it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

You're perfect, yes it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

You're perfect, yes it's true!
But without me you're only you
You're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two

I remember some comment by Patton that the song had no meaning and the lyrics were made to rhyme. That's just my take.

My take on this song

Using the word menstrating heart, instead of bleeding heart is refering to a women. There are other words like discipline, inheritance and skinned knee, that refer to childhood. I believe the song is about his mother trying to tell him to grow up and get married and have some children. Settle down is what she is saying. He is saying, I may be a a part of you, but I'm not perfect and I will find my own way. I think we all have to find are own way in life, maybe marriage and children aren't a part of that. Who knows what are path in life is? Anyway, I don't think this song would have fit on the CD Indestructible, and I can see why they left it out.
