I'm one of those people, those rarer beings, that can feel music. The way it flows, the way it cuts deeply into your soul and brands it forever. Music to me is one of the greatest accomplishments of mankind. I have a firm belief that EVERY single genre of music has something striking to offer, even if it's a single song.

I love it when you can feel and hear the effort one has put into their music; the skill of the guitarists when fingers cross strings in a challenging combination, the drummer and the beat that is the very base of the music, the vocals and how the way they sing brings it all together into something that can incite feelings anywhere between sorrow, joy, sadness, anger, etc.

These days, there are so many songs that have...no substance to them. the guitars scream so that the notes mold together into something that you cannot hear clearly through the flat wall of it's sound, the drums lost in a frantic and chaotic beating. The beauty or power of a voice is lost in monotonous drone to a beat and music that comes from a synthasizer. These kinds of songs seem artificial and mocking of those that truly make music. They stand high on the charts in popularity, but why?
