Very simple thread to maybe start some interesting conversation and maybe get us off the topic of how much of a fanboy each of you are for at least a couple minutes, then you may go back to your fanboyism.

If you don't like Disturbed then why the hll are you on here? Celtic Thunder is an Irish folk group. Def Leppard kicks ss. James Cahall is a pianist. And you never heard of Saving Abel?- Addicted by them is, like, my favoritest song ever. And as I said, I listen to pretty much anything and everything- there is very little I don't like.

It's amazing
how only your very select age/gender group sees them as music at all. Oh wait, it's because they're like every boyband before them, except less talented, since they lack the vocal harmonies that many boybands had before and also can't dance. Instead they stand on stage doing the lamest impersonation of a pop rock band I've ever seen. It's downright boring "music," and anyone listening to them should at least admit that the reason they like them has nothing to do with the quality of the "music." They're a fad, like every boy band before them, and their popularity is due entirely to their image and that they're the "flavor of the week."

I love their music! And I know several guys who like them. Well, maybe only a few. Ok, fine- only one. And no, he is not gay. haha- He acts it sometimes but he's not. And you may be right about them being a fad- but only for some. Only true die hard Jonas fans- like me- will never grow tired of them. You should hear their new album- it's a lot different then their older stuff. Like, A LOT different.

If you think you actually like their "music", you have absolutely no taste at all, I understand girls liking most boy bands, but the Jonas Brothers, as Fil already stated, don't even have the basic, semi-talents that others have, which is more pathetic than words can describe, so, saying you like their shit and are a "true Jonas fan" is even more pathetic, if that's even possible. Also, your friend, whether he admits it or not, is A: claiming to like the shitty Jonas Brothers to get in your pants or B: GAY, but keeping it to himself

Have a bit in common. 5 of your top 10's are the same and I have never heard of them. Then again I'm an oldtimer but I like do think I know a bit about today's music.
Let me ask you guy's something. Do you run Protest the Hero Forums? Or Etched in Red Forums or any of your top 10 Fav's? Do you chat in any of these bands forums? I find it a bit odd that you have Disturbed at 7 and who knows were Phil ranks them?

Fil got me into 3 of them (Protest the Hero, Etched In Red, and Unexpect) and indirectly got me into 3 others (Polkadot Cadaver, The Syncope Threshold, and Dog Fashion Disco), so that might explain it some, we also have similar tastes in music (obviously), and I still like Disturbed as much as I always have, but I've just found bands I like WAY more, which may or may not be the case with Fil as well
Nope, I had started an Unexpect forum that I never went through with (it does still exist though, I never got around to shutting it down), but other than that we know each other mostly through Disturbed forums (his, Elochai's, and this one) along with my own music forum and one other non-music-related forum. Though now that I think about it, a PTH forum would be a great idea...

And take a look around, the crazies are everywhere, there are fanboys of various bands on the forums I go to (myself included, as I'm quite the PTH fanboy), but nothing to the creepy stalkeresque extent of the ones on this site

I help manage The Syncope Threshold's facebook, and do several other things for them (my number 3 band). As for why I'm here, I have developed many friends through Disturbed, but they're no longer in my favorite bands, since I have changed musical tastes. As for the similarities, we have similar tastes and i've intro'ed him to alot of bands.

I have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the Weapons tour. There set list was dissapointing and David's voice was beat. 3 songs off of Indestructible didn't cut it for me and they tour way too long and become sluggish. Anyway looking forward to the next release.

Davids voice (at least on the bootlegs) was terrible! Finally somebody on here that actually criticizes the band! Most the people on here think that Disturbed is god, and their music can never sound bad. Every bad has a show where it doesn't sound good or whatever, there is really no exception.

but it's just that I have different tastes now. Nothing against the band, really, but I prefer diversity and use of instrumentation other than just guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. They do well for the genre that they are, it's just not a genre that I really like much anymore. All the disappointing stories from the tour and the crazed people acting like there's no other band in the world are also a bit of a turnoff, though I can't say that it changes my opinion of the music at all.
