Perpetual Questions
Perpetual Questions
It’s always one thing after another, isn’t it? You’ll just be rolling along, having a simply dandy time and then all of the sudden, BAM! You’ve lost something. That’s because life seems to have this constant thing with equilibrium: if it gives you one thing, it must sooner or later take another. But then that always raises the forever ‘Why?’that applies to all different aspects of our existence. WHY are some of us born into the ‘classes’ that we are, and how is the drive for success found on such a vast gamut? WHY is what one person does so much more important than the actions of others? And, (perhaps most importantly), WHY are we the only specie to notably desire knowledge and innovation while others strive solely to keep the population alive? What makes us think that our individual intellect will matter when we’ve finally fallen prey to mortality? After all, when we’re dead, how many people will REALLY know who that average person was? WHY can’t we listen to their mind the way we can listen to a CD, and WHY can’t we take away such things as pain or memories?
The whole life and death balance, to me, is just as, (if not more), thought-provoking than what may or may not be after death. Gigabytes of random thoughts plugging into the cranial network on a daily basis, buckets of common emotions accompanying those thoughts, and finally, the actions that we may or may not perform as a result of both. All of these things, all of our personalities, likes, dislikes, relationships, and reactions to all kinds of events are what make you YOU. But…WHY?! Who’s to say that there isn’t an exact copy of you in Australia or Guatemala or some other place, someone who looks, thinks, acts, and IS just like you? How many combinations of amino acids can there possibly be to make up a strand of DNA that eventually grows to be a human being? And what about those blasted emotions that we feel? Just think, in reality, how many, or few, there are? Sure, you have combinations, but in the end, isn’t that just what could be considered as ‘bittersweet’? So in laymen terms, there’s really only happy and sad feelings, or, if you wanna get all musical, major and minor…which branch off into what we may call joy, depression, fear, etc.
And yes, again, that brings back the ‘WHY’. Whether we are conscious of it or not, we are forever craving that knowledge like our bodies might want nicotine or our hearts yearn for love. (Isn’t it kind of interesting how we depict love with a muscle? Hmmmm….) If you think about it, the reason we desire such things as attention is BECAUSE it is the knowledge of acceptance! Oh why, why, why, why, why?????
….and THAT, was MY “Ah-ha” moment. (That was some very strong lamesauce, I will admit that much. And yes, ‘lamesauce’ IS copyrighted by my sister and me.)
“My brothers and sisters, my blood,” never quit keeping on. Even though that damn ‘Why’ is always out there, there’s always a chance that you’ll run it into its own snare. If not, then hey, you’re getting a very healthy dose of Disturbance, am I right?
