you ever check out Protest

Submitted by philiptarrant on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 9:45am.

you ever check out Protest the Hero? If you like Dragonforce, you might like them (i hate DF's vocals, but a talented band). PTH has some amazingly technical guitar, certain to be unlike most stuff you've heard. For me they are they the pinnacle of guitaring, but that's just cuz it's the type i like, complicated and creative. check out PTH's CD Fortress...a must buy for those who love guitar and singing/screaming vocals.

Also, if you like Protest the Hero, check out The Syncope Threshold, they are similar, though just getting started out. they are incredibly nice guys!

Lamb of god is your first

Submitted by RiD-insanity on Wed, 05/21/2008 - 9:11pm.

Lamb of god is your first "scary experience".

Well now, if you want to get more into what you call a "scary" experience, you'll have to check out some awesome metal bands :D.

You should give Nevermore a listen. They sound hard on the instrumentals in alot of their songs, but the lead singer has an amazing voice. If you hear one good song by them, you'll probably slowly learn to love them all (or most of them). Nevermore is easily addicting. Try listening to "This godless endeavor" or anything off their "Dreaming Neon Black" album.

You should also try Scar symmetry, a melodic death metal band. They have catchy guitar riffs, sick low pitch vox, and amazing melodic vocals, and they really do a good job of mixing all of those elements together. You should listen to "Mind Machine", "Slaves Of the Sublimal" and "The Illusionist" by them. Listen to all of those tracks, maybe even more than once if you want, and you just might find a new favorite band :D
