Besides the obvious of being a totally wicked sounding song, I delve deeper into the words of what is brought out through music.
Yes, there is underlying meanings to this song, as many of their songs have. But Asylum touches the core of something more. We all have moments when we feel lost or losing it, and in this we seek comfort of our own Asylum; the one in our mind. I know I find that place of comfort and safety within when the going gets rough. David's voice and the constant pounding rhythm from Dan, John and Mike, culminate this song into something I can reach into on a personal level and beyond. I truly think they hit the head when they put this song out there; and we, the fans, may never leave that Asylum again!
