DISTURBED NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY AWARD

December 3, 2008 — Burbank, CA — Reprise Records’ Disturbed received their first Grammy Award nomination today in the Best Hard Rock Performance Category for their song “Inside The Fire” from their current album Indestructible.

Indestructible was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America just six weeks after its June 3rd release. It has spawned the hit single “Inside the Fire,” set a record when it spent 16 weeks atop the Active Rock Radio chart. Their current single/title track, “Indestructible,” is currently Number 2 on the Billboard Active Rock Chart.

The self-produced album debuted at Number One on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart and remained in the Top 10 for five weeks. Indestructible is the band’s third consecutive Number One album, following their platinum-sellers Believe (2002) and Ten Thousand Fists (2005), making Disturbed one of only six rock bands in history to score three consecutive Number One debuts with studio albums. Formed in Chicago in 1996, Disturbed have sold a collective 10 million albums worldwide.

The band is currently on tour in the United States and Canada.

The Grammy Awards will be handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8th, 2009. Tune in to the 51st Annual Grammy Awards telecast, which airs that night on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Who is The Mars Volta? I mean, I never even heard of them until they won the Grammy. They beat out 4 of the greatest rock groups (in my opinion) for it, and I've never even heard a song by them, nor do I know anyone that listens to them. But congrats to Volta. David, Mike, Dan & John, you guys should've had it, you deserved it. You will get one before long, just keep to your sound and keep the hard rock alive.

They say the Grammy's are a curse for relatively new acts, but I say in this case, it's a monster statement. Disturbed is here to keep rock in check by doing what they do, the right way, setting the standard, keeping it alive and in our collective faces. Aside from them scouring the globe with their tours, bringing their all live, to the fans, they're just now bringing their message to the establishment with this nomination. And when they obviously win and walk on stage to accept this undeniably deserved award, they need only say, 'for our fans and the legions of those who listen with more than your ears' and 'see you next year', and walk off the stage. No thanking the Academy or any of that brown-nosing bullshit because if it were up to them the Jonas Brothers would be national heroes. Not to minimize their credence and ability in nominating Distrubed, but I simply think, it is wise and statistically inarguable to deny a band like Disturbed their appropriate place on their stage. Heartfelt congrats to Disturbed and to the music / message they bring.

It's about time they were nominated for a Grammy.I couldn't be happier for them. Now will they let the Rock Bands perform or will it be 3hrs music I can't stand. I wish they would give the Rock performers more air time, I'm sick of pop idols. One band maybe two bands, besides Cold Play and the Jonas Brothers.

I got to scream real loud! (Use your imagination, for this won't be heard unless your right next to me. And If you are, sorry for the noise.) I really hope that they win that award. Here's to hoping for them.

I have a question more then an actual comment. here it goes: Why do all great bands leave their greatest songs un-singled, and make singles of those medium ones? don't get me wrong, im a huge disturbed fan, got the "Indestructible" 2 days after it was released(unortunatelly im from poland and here everything comes later then everywhere else,i can't hope for disturbed to come to my country with a concert because this world is all about the money and Poland just isn't profitable enough), but i wonder, why the hell are you leaving "The Night" un-singled? It's the best song from the album, probably 1 of the best in the Disturbed's history, and still, it gets no attention. It's not just me who thinks that, want a proof, go check youtube.

anyway, just wanted to know that, would be good to get any response at all.

Disturbed = Power beyond Containing ! :D

cheers from Xaero - 1 of the hundreds of thousands loyal fans.

The Night is actually confirmed as their next single, so it's ok, it will be un-un-singled haha

Disturbed's next music video is going to be The Night. I hope they make it extremely awesome like all their music videos.

That is just awesome
I knew you could do it
Im listening to it now =C
Still not bored of it, and thats rare O.O

PurpleDoom's picture

this is awesome! Inside the Fire seems to be a no-brainer for Top Hard Rock track... it was a record-setting single on one chart, after all. Disappointed in the "Album of the Year" nominees though... despite the fact that we hate it, we all know Tha Carter III is going to win that. because in this world, sadly, quantity of fans comes over quality of music.

*end of rant*
