I've been a Disturbed fan since The Sickness album first came out. I've have seen the band live numerous times and have followed the band ever since. My question is "why so much opera like singing?" It deters me and others have talked to from buying the new Disturbed albums. A friend of mine let me borrow a copy of the Asylum album. There are some really good songs on the new album, but most of the songs end up going down the toilet with the singing. Indestructible was the same way. Too much singing and melody. Going back and listening to The Sickness album, there was hardly any opera like singing on it. I just wonder where Disturbed lost their edginess and why they thought it would be a good idea to sing so much? It ruins songs that could be amazing. The song entitled The Animal is a great example. It starts out very heavy and when it goes into the chorus David goes off on this opera singing right in the middle of being heavy and it ruins the song. I wish Disturbed would go back to being edgy then i would most definitely buy the entire album rather than just buying the couple great songs on the album.
