Another way to die fits perfectly in the album asylum, because it shows us that slowly we're destroying our own planet, wich is our ultimate home, and that make us all mad people living in the gigantic asylum that is earth!!! because only a mad species destroys its own environment, so i totally agree with Disturbed!!!

This is the best Disturbed song i've heard so far. It's so awesome, that i have no words to express it. Thanks for making this, guys. It really touched my soul.

" It really touched my soul." Metal/Hard rock that really touched your soul, kinda like a Kenny G song right....Enough said!!!

Lame...Disturbed has become the 2010 version of the 80's band Stryper, this is awful, once I see the setlist for the tour, as long as this song isn't on it, I will consider going, otherwise, I get to save some cash this summer. Are they touring with the "Lillith Fair" this summer or what..

Why do I feel the need to go hug a tree after listening to this song?

darkstarxxx's picture

I do disagree with the people who think saving the planet we live on makes for shitty lyrics though. They must not give much of a shit about living or dying or arn't smart enough to figure out that we need to stop trashing the planet if we want to survive.

This song is a filler at best. definetly not the best disturbed song let alone a single. Really hope the rest of the album isn't like this. The last couple albums are my favorite cd's but this song sounds way too much like the other songs and its not orginal like haunted or the night.the song is too mono toned and the guitar/vocals are too similar to a mix of other songs for example intoxication, criminal. Which are good songs but shouldn't be reused in a bland song!

Sorry to say its a miss. Disturbed is better than this. I felt the instrumental was poor, lyrics were weak, and I thought the message sucked. I hope the rest of the album is better than this and I trust it will be.

This is a song that is well written with much thinking ability and discernment coupled with insight. The video itself sets a presentiment of more world environmental diasters yet to come. What an awakening.

PS: Watch H.A.A.R.P (youtube.com)

Awesome , Better than i expected

This is not at all what I was expecting from Disturbed.... It's actually painful to listen to because it's so weak of a single... The song's lyrics are poor at best, and I actually was happy when the song ended... it was so monotonous and stale, that I got bored with the song. I have listened to the song multiple times now, and I just don't see any substance in this song. Am I listening to the same song you other Disturbed Ones are listening to??? As someone commented earlier, it sounds like a recycled song which didn't "make the cut" onto the Indestructible album. It's a "raw" song... and not "raw" in a good way... but in the sense that it's got no meat (no substance). Where's the beef?!?! David said in an interview that the new album will be "darker" than the previous albums, but having the lead single be about the environment and how we are "killing the world" is not what I see as "dark". I like Disturbed songs because they are exhilarating, emotional, mournful,or inspiring, and this song fails in all categories. Yes, Disturbed does many incredibly good songs reflecting politics, religion, and the like, but this song is something I'd expect from a band full of high school students, which is not what anyone wants to hear. I LOVE the band, and I am very excited to see them in concert this summer (August 17th!!), but I'm hoping that the album strikes a darker tone and has more lyrical prowess than construed through this weak single.

Awesome job on the song! i've been a fan of disturbed for a long time and this just shows the diversity the have in their song writing. Wake up "mr. the ocean is huge" sea life is dying because of bp's oil spill and the shoreline is getting fucked up too. The Earth is not alright and we are ravaging the planet. all humans do is distroy and kill. I don't want to waste my time and energy and keep bitching about ignorant people so peace out. Keep rocking fellow disturbed ones!!!!!!!!!

analogkid's picture

I dropped a gum wrapper in the street yesterday, and I remembered this song, so I picked it up. I think Hanah Montana writes deeper lyrics, and it is musically as talented as a Michael Bolton song, but yes, keep rockin', just not the cheese that happens to be this awful song..

KodiakICE's picture

It's so easy to make you environmentalists mad. The ocean is HUGE was a classic comment.

The song is pretty good, it reminds me of a song from the Ten Thousand Fists album. The black anchorman in the beginning kind of ruined it for me though.
If some people think that this song sounds too much like their old ones, they should try listening to Heaven Shall Burn's newest album that came out last month, it almost sounds exactly the same as their 2008 release, maybe a little different but almost like a duplicate.
I hope that this album will have many good songs for us all the enjoy.

OK, this is getting ridiculous, stop listening to Al Gore and liberal BS about Global Warming and the other crap... It isn't happening! If you don't believe me google Oregon Petition... signed my tens of thousands of climatologists and other people who are related to climate sciences and have PhDs and other upper- end college degrees saying that Global Warming isn't true as well as explaining why... so if you won't take my word for it... take the word of 20,000+ climatologists... The song was alright though... I just hope the lyrics in the other songs of this album are deeper, more meaningful, inspiring, and actually true.

Disturbed to appear on Oprah and The View next week to promote there new album, and will make a special appearance with Air Supply on there upcoming tour.

I love the disturbed sound... I always have. Don't wanna sound like a hater but they have always tackled other tough subjects in a more thought provoking lyrical way. This is just too preachy for me... I hope the rest of the album isn't the same unless they are gonna release a full instrumental version. Sorry guys, it was a miss for me.

Still looking forward to the Washington DC show. VIP package already paid for.

knoddix's picture

i think the message is valid but as for the beats and the vocals no other word than awesome explains its top stuff can't wait for the album

Zeronex's picture

Listen people, the song is great, but the message... not so much. Don't take me wrong, David did an amazing job with the lyrics, but the message is not that accurate. Doesn't it seem to you that now a days EVERYTHING is about the environment. And EVERYTHING we do is harmful to the planet. EVERYTHING we do is causing all the natural disasters all over the world. Why??? Well because that's what we humans do. We tend to feel guilty and responsible for EVERYTHING, no matter how stupid it might be. I mean, think about it.... This is what most of the people think: Oh my God! I've ripped a whole in the ozone layer... because I use spray on my hair. Holy hell! The planet is burning up... because I drive my car to work every day. I mean, COME ON PEOPLE!!! The earth has dealt with a lot worst than us. Volcanic explosions, solar flares, the magnetic reversal of the poles, meteor strikes, devastating hurricanes, the shifting of the plate tectonics, earthquakes, tsunamis... you name it, the earth has dealt with it. And we think that a couple of aluminum cans and some plastic bags are going to make a difference? Seriously? Like George Carlin once said "The planet is fine. The people are fucked." The planet will just shake us off like a bad case of flees. Stop all the damn whining about the environment! Stop worrying about things that aren't your fault and live a little, damn it! ....................... Good song though.

theguy92109's picture

hahaha I love it! And I also feel the exact same way, I would love this song if it weren't for the message behind it... We are not causing Global Warming or natural disasters, and as for the line "the time bomb is ticking, and no one listening"... Too many people believe all this BS and its EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME.

P.S The Song Kicks Ass

Why in God's name would you type in all caps! Do you have some insecurity issues much? Relax, we all like Disturbed, just having a healthy debate on the new song. I don't think I've ever come across such a drama queen, c'mon man. Go back to watching your CNN corky, you need a beer and to relax a bit. YOU ARE A MORON!! Please don't type in all caps again to make yourself feel important.

CNN just reported Diturbed is teaming up with Lionel Ritchie to write the new "We Are The World." And if CNN reported it, it must be true, I will believe it to be true since I love to be spoon fed information and follow like a sheep, rather than do my own research, use my brain, and form my own opinions based on that research and the facts.

StormGoddess's picture

Un-fucking-believable.
And that is to those putting this down.

First off, I think this goes back to the roots of the band in its own way. Wake the hell up! The earth is NOT ok and by any means will it be in the near future. And this song really rocks the truth. WE are killing it, so yes- Disturbed said it right- its just another way to die.

The song is awesome, the lyrics are real- period!
Bang-ass rhythm and beat. Seriously can't wait for the rest of the album.

analogkid's picture

So, the volcanic eruption in Iceland, I'm sure you have seen it on CNN, has negated every single effort we have made over the last 5 years to control CO2 emissions on our planet. Not only that, but this single act of God has added emissions to the earth estimated to be 42 times more than can be corrected by the extreme human regulations proposed for annual reductions. Again, it takes a little more effort than sitting on the couch soaking up the media feeds they tell you, but a little bit of time and energy spent on the matter might bring a new perspective, at least let you form your own opinion. So I say stop all the extreme regulations on US companies that are causing our jobs to be shipped somewhere else, cause there is no stopping mother nature, not even that hybrid car you just bought.
